Hello, Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!
What a pretty sunset there is tonight! ( We don't have a whole lot of trees around our house, so we have a very nice veiw of it!)
Well, earlier today I tried a new recipe, at least new to me :-) It's called "Tea Cakes". (They are kind of like a cookie, only not quite as sweet.) Anyway, I thought I would share it with you! :-)
Tea Cakes
2 sticks butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. Soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup milk
7 cups all purpose flour
Cream butter and sugar well; add eggs, one at a time, then add sifted dry ingredients with the first cup of flour. add milk and enough of the remaining flour to the proper consistency for rolling dough on floured board. Cut in desired shapes, (My little brothers helped me with this part some ! ) :-) place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350* until lightly tanned. (We did 9 minutes, but 10 might be better!)
Store in air tight container.
Note: For extra flavor you could try adding a little almond or lemon flavoring instead of vanilla.
I halfed the recipe this first time.
We had fun with these and I hope you will too! !-)
